Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, The Lower Keys & Key West
Marathon is located in the heart of the Florida Keys, approximately 50 miles north of Key West and 50 miles south of Key Largo. Today, Marathon is popular year round for those in search of sport fishing and water related activities. If you are not off shore, you may want to swim with a dolphin, visit the historical museum or bask in the sun on Sombrero beach. Of the 42 bridges that connect the Florida Keys, the 7-mile bridge is the longest and can be found on the south end of Marathon. You may recall seeing this bridge in the movie "True Lies". You will also find golfing, bike paths and hiking trails to enjoy throughout the area. Waterfront dining dots the Marathon area and ranges from fine dining to laid back eateries. Many offering dockage for those who arrive by boat.
Marathon is one of two Florida Keys that is home to a commercial airport with flights from major carriers. Accommodations range from botels to full service 5-star resorts.
