THE
EAGLE was another vessel intentionally sank as an artificial reef. It lies on its
starboard side, and you first encounter the superstructure at about 70 -75 feet. The tidal
surge from Hurricane Georges (September 25, 1998) broke the Eagle into two pieces. The
propeller is located in about 115 feet of water. Currents in the area are strong and
should be monitored carefully by divers. This wreck is frequented by countless species of
fish including yellowtail and barracuda.
